How to Download the Firmware Update File to a microSD Card on Your Phone?

Learn how to use a Type-C adapter to save the ELLIPAL firmware update file to an SD card using an Android phone. In this guide, we use a Google Pixel 5 as an example.

Type-C Adapter Overview

This Type-C adapter has a microSD card slot and a Type-C plug.

It can be used with:

  • Android phones with a Type-C port

  • Computers with a Type-C port

It cannot be used with:

  • iPhones

Step 1: Connect the Type-C Adapter to Your Phone

1. Insert the microSD card into the microSD card slot of the Type-C adapter.

2. Plug the Type-C plug into your phone’s Type-C charging port.

3. Check the adapter. If it is connected successfully, the blue indicator light will turn on.

4. Check your phone’s notification bar.

5. If a storage notification appears, the Type-C adapter is connected successfully.

Step 2: Download the Firmware Update File to the SD Card

The steps below use a Google Pixel 5 as an example. The interface may look different on other Android phones.

Step 3: Safely Disconnect the Type-C Adapter

  1. After the file is saved to the microSD card, tap Eject on your phone.

  2. Wait until the microSD card is safely disconnected.

  3. Unplug the Type-C adapter from your phone.

FAQ

What should I do if my phone does not detect the Type-C adapter?

Make sure the microSD card is inserted correctly. Unplug the Type-C adapter and plug it in again. Check if the blue indicator light turns on. If your phone still does not detect it, make sure your phone supports external storage through the Type-C port.

What if my phone automatically creates files or folders on the microSD card?

Files or folders created automatically by your phone usually do not affect the update. However, for best results, we recommend deleting them before updating your Titan. Keep only the ELLIPAL firmware ZIP file on the microSD card.
