# How to Use ELLIPAL as a Signer in Safe Multisig?

This guide explains how to use ELLIPAL in a Safe multisig setup, including:

* Connecting ELLIPAL to Safe and creating a Safe account
* Signing a Safe multisig transaction with ELLIPAL

ELLIPAL is used as a signer. The Safe account itself is a smart contract wallet and has a different address from your ELLIPAL wallet address.

***

### When is ELLIPAL used?

ELLIPAL is mainly used in two parts of the Safe multisig process:

#### 1. Connecting to Safe Wallet

Use the ELLIPAL App to scan the WalletConnect QR code shown on Safe Wallet. After connection, your ELLIPAL wallet address can be added as one of the signers of the Safe account.

#### 2. Signing Safe transactions

When a Safe transaction requires approval from your ELLIPAL signer address, ELLIPAL helps you review and sign the transaction securely.

Depending on your device:

* ELLIPAL Titan / Titan 2.0 signs by scanning QR codes.
* ELLIPAL X Card signs by entering the Card PIN and tapping the card with your phone.

### Confirm the signing request in the ELLIPAL App

The ELLIPAL App will show the transaction details.

Review the details carefully, including:

* Network
* Token
* Recipient address
* Amount
* Safe transaction information

If everything is correct, tap I understand.

The ELLIPAL App will then display an unsigned transaction QR code.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note for ELLIPAL X Card users**

If you are using ELLIPAL X Card, you can complete the signing directly in the ELLIPAL App.

After reviewing the transaction details, tap **I understand**, enter your **Card-PIN**, and tap your X Card to the phone to complete the signature.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Scan the unsigned transaction QR code

On your ELLIPAL Titan or Titan 2.0:

1\.  Select the correct chain.

2\.  Open the signing function.

3\. Use the device camera to scan the unsigned QR code shown in the ELLIPAL App.

For example, if the Safe transaction is on Polygon, select **POL** on the device.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Review and confirm on the Titan device

The Titan device will show the transaction details.

Check the transaction carefully on the device screen.

If everything is correct, confirm the signing request.

The device will then generate a signed data QR code.

<figure><img src="/files/sH3hz1DHuqq08MlkHyD0" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Scan the signed data back into the ELLIPAL App

Go back to the ELLIPAL App.

Tap **Scan “Signed Data QR Code”**.

Use the App to scan the signed QR code shown on the Titan device.

After the scan is completed, the signature will be submitted.

<figure><img src="/files/jluNYHSu3CpYdRbLAyQo" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Wait for enough signer approvals

After your ELLIPAL signature is submitted, return to Safe Wallet.

If the Safe account requires more than one signature, other signers must also approve the transaction.

For example, if the Safe threshold is 2/3, at least two signer approvals are needed before the transaction can be executed.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Execute the transaction in Safe Wallet

Once the required number of signatures has been collected, Safe Wallet will allow the transaction to be executed.

Click **Execute** in Safe Wallet and confirm the final execution.

After the transaction is completed, you can view the result in Safe Wallet or on the blockchain explorer.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://support.ellipal.com/docs/features-and-advanced-usage/device-usage-and-maintenance/how-to-use-ellipal-as-a-signer-in-safe-multisig.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
