# What Should I Do If the Firmware Update Fails?

If this is your first time updating your device, please follow the full firmware update guide first:

### Fix a failed or interrupted update

#### Check your items

Confirm you have the following and that they're working properly:

* A Titan adapter
* An original charging cable
* A card reader (prepared by yourself)
* A microSD card (≤32GB) formatted to FAT32

{% hint style="info" %}
If you're using the original SD card that came with your device, it's already formatted correctly. If you're using your own SD card instead, format it to FAT32 first. See [how to format your SD card to FAT32](https://www.ellipal.com/pages/fat32-format-windows-mac).
{% endhint %}

#### Check your device model and firmware version

Confirm your device model and version, then download the correct firmware file from the unified firmware update guide above, which lists the latest version and download link for Titan 2.0, Titan (EC02), and Titan Mini. Make sure the installation version is newer than your current version.

The latest installation package can be downloaded from the links below:

#### Check the SD card

* It contains only one installation package file
* The installation package must be in ZIP format. On Mac, use Chrome to download it, since Safari may unzip the file automatically
* The installation package name does not contain suffixes like "(1)"
* After downloading the package, safely eject the SD card from your computer

#### Check the adapter

* The SD card is inserted into the adapter before plugging in the original power cable
* The adapter is connected to a power socket, not a computer USB port
* The indicator light is blue after plugging the original power cable into the adapter

#### If power was interrupted during the update

* Repeat the upgrade attempt on the Titan series
* If the upgrade fails but the device shows the latest version, increase the last digit of the installation package file name by one (for example, 4.14.0.zip to 4.14.1.zip)
